About the Academy
Maslakul Irshaad Online Academy was founded to make sound Islamic knowledge and a strong academic foundation available to any family with an internet connection. We pair traditional Qur'an and Islamic studies instruction with core Western subjects, delivered live, one-on-one or in small structured groups.
Our teachers work around your time zone and your household's schedule — so distance is never the reason a child, or an adult beginning later in life, goes without a solid grounding in deen and knowledge.

From a WhatsApp group of five students to a school with 121 students and 28 teachers — alhamdulillah.
2020
Maslakul Irshaad Online Academy began with founder Maryam Abdulkareem's resolve to build a structured, accessible platform for Islamic education. Encouraged by her mentor, Ustadh Ibraheem Adetona Olamide, she coined the Academy's name and drafted its first curriculum — by hand, photographed and shared as PDFs, with voice notes to match. Classes ran three to four nights a week after Isha, for a first cohort of about five adult women.
2021
During her NYSC year, the founder took on her first private students — three children studying from abroad — MIA's first classes for minors. That same year she joined Daarul Uloom as an instructor while completing a master's degree.
2022–2023
Teaching continued through a research year in Ghana, often past midnight. After returning to Nigeria and with the steady support of her husband, Ustadh Idris Abiola Quadri, the Academy grew to nearly twenty private students and expanded into Hadeeth, Seerah, Adab, and Qur'an memorization.
Dec 2023
MIA formally became an institution with employed teachers, starting with Sheikha Latifah Najimud-Deen, Sheikha Maryam Oladepo, and Sheikha Aminat Abdulwahab. Zoom infrastructure was upgraded to support breakout rooms, and the teaching team grew steadily through 2024.
2025
MIA launched its English and Mathematics program, extending Western education alongside the Islamic studies curriculum — and growing to more than ten enrolled students in its first months.
Today
Maslakul Irshaad Academy now has 121 students enrolled, supported by a dedicated team of 28 teachers across Arabic, Islamic studies, and Western education. Alhamdulillah — with the continued trust of our parents and the mercy of Allah, we look forward to many more years of learning, growth, and service.
